AREVA NP GmbH (Advanced Nuclear Power) is the world's premier nuclear supplier. AREVA NP GmbH is comprehensively participating in the development of nuclear fusion as a viable future energy source. Within the Engineering Design Activities for ITER, the activities of AREVA NP GmbH comprise the overall plant design and concentrate in particular on the design and analysis of vessel/ in-vessel components including the relevant maintenance tools and procedures.
AREVA NP GmbH supplied prototype divertor handling devices (Divertor Cassette Movers) designed for ITER to the European Fusion Development Agreement (EFDA) for the Divertor Test Platform at Brasimone (Italy), one of the large EU R&D projects for ITER.
In addition, AREVA NP GmbH is involved in the European studies regarding the safety and environmental assessment of fusion power and in the conceptual design of future fusion power plants performed within the European Fusion Programme.
